In Vegas' project window, there is a bottom scroll bar. Drag de slider to the right until 'Date/timestamp' appears.

Good one Ivan. To clarify, that would be in the Project Media tab.

You can also change the order of the columns to your preference. I just dragged the Date/Time Stamp column all the way to the left to make it the second column after Name.

To get that info from a clip in the timeline, right click on it and choose "Select in Project Media list."

Got it guys and many thanks, but...

there is nothing listed under Date/Time Stamp. Interesting ? Since my camera, HV30, is set-up to show Date & Time, Eastern Standard Time, I would think that this data would be transfrerred during Capture ? No ?

I'm capturing via Firewire with no apparent problems other than the Date/Time stamp is missing.

Thanks for the link btw, there is some good info there.

I'm still stumped with this Date/Time Stamp issue though.

I'm stumped too. It might be time to:

Worth a shot, if you haven't already.

Hmm, I've had no response from Sony yet, but, Canon replied very quickly.
They claim that it's all in the NLE. The date/time-data code is automatically recorded in the HV30.
I've tried it with Time and Date and Data Code in the HV30. Neither one provides a Date/Time Stamp in Vegas Movie Studio.

Right click a video file in Explorer or Project Media then select Properties. The General tab shows the information you're looking for. At least it does with avi files captured from my DV tapes.
