I created a project that contains Mpeg 2 video. One video file is created at 1440x1080i using a Sony HDR video camera. The other video file is created at 720p using a Sony DSC-T90. I was trying to render the entire project to 1440x1080i. The project will not render. Even if I select just a few minutes of footage, the project will not render.
I tested further and found that if I have an empty project, load a single 720p video file, I cannot render it to Main Concept MPEG2 1440x1080i. Vegas will display the rendering dialog, the elapsed time will count and the remaining time counts down to zero. The percentage complete never gets to 100%. Rendering stops. If I hit cancel, nothing happens. If I close the program, I get the “A background operation is currently in progress.” Prompt, but if I press “Yes” to cancel, the dialog goes away but the rendering dialog is still open and cannot be closed. I must use task manager to cancel it.
I am running a quad CPU with 4 GB of RAM. I have used Vegas for several years. This is the first time I am mixing in the 720p video from the Sony Cybershot. I have several 1TB drives with plenty of free space. Please help. Thanks!
