Vegas 9 won't start...hangs loading a VST

Can I tell Vegas 9 to skip loading VST instruments? Everytime I run the program it says "Loading ColossusCST.dll" (that's an instrument plugin that I don't even use with Vegas) and just hangs there with the opening screen and load bar halfway across.

I'd love to be able to actually get into Vegas 9!

Help?

The default Vegas VST folder is C:\Program Files\Vstplugins\ so move them (or at least the problem dll) somewhere else.

Yep, change that Default VST directory in Vegas prefs. Change it to a folder that has nothing in it.
or
Edit > Prefs > VST Effects > DeSelect the Ones you don't want VP9 to use.

Right...except moving them will ruin using them for other applications and I haven't been able to get the program running once to change the preferences.

Sheesh Sony, why not just program something into the loading process that recognizes a plug-in hang and then offers the ability to skip loading it.

Ironically, Acid Pro 6 and 7 load it perfectly....wonder why Vegas 9 is lacking so many features that older Sony software have...like Cineform...

and that gave me the thought to just rename the whole folder temporarily, but thing is...I don't want to do that every time.

I went through and figured out that Vegas crashes if you have VSTi plugins installed in that folder. Unfortunately I like having access to my regular VST plugs in Vegas which means, if I change the default VST folder I have to reinstally hundreds of plugins. Man...
