Vegas and Aardvark

Are there any known problems using Vegas with Aardvark
boxes? I seem to be having a problem when I enable record.

On the 4.73 aardvark driver I sometimes get a 2ms "null"
recorded that I cannot delete, and if I try to record into
that track again Vegas crashes. If I delete the whole track
then Vegas will not crash. This happens occasionally.

On the 4.74 aardvark driver (24 bit) I also have a problem
when I enable record. I can sit here and click on the
record enable button until the system locks up, requiring a
cold reboot, no cntrl-alt-del access. Sometime it is quick,
(ie arming the track twice) sometimes it takes a while (ie
arming the track 20 times) but it will lock up. When doing
operations that do not involve the record enable button
everything is fine. Sometimes a drop down menu appears from
the record enable button !!!!!

Aardvark cannot duplicate this condition.
I have two machines with two different aardvark boxes, a
20/20 and a 24. They both behave as indicated.

Any suggestions ??

I also have BIG problems running vegas with aardvark, mine is aark
TDIF...most of my problems have to do with recording while chasing
sync...I found the 4.73 drivers to be a lot more stable with
vegas...however, they are not 24 bit...only the 4.74 is

I know TS at aardvark runs 98SE, but I have found the problem in both
98 and 98SE....
they also could not duplicate my problem
please speak to Ben at aardvark...
He is extremely cool, and will try his damnedest to help you out...
I am sorry to have to say, that since aardvark has no 2000 drivers,
my TDIF is temporarily out of my computer, replaced by a Soundscape
Mixtreme pci...same price with 2 tdif ports...no problems yet running
mixtreme/vegas/win 2000

I now have a new aarklink.dll from aardvark for testing purposes.
Will keep you posted.

E-Mail Aardvark and they can send you a new DLL (AARKLINK.DLL) file
for the 4.74 driver (part of next driver version) which corrects the
problem.

Otherwise, e-mail me and I will send it to you
(jeffreyl@med.unr.edu), but I will be out of town until 3/28/00.
