You'll find various drivers, transcoders and viewers for P2 and other Panasonic formats at this link

https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm#p2driver

I'm not using P2 so can't offer more advice, i'm sure others will.

Ditto on Raylight. So, so easy.

Cineform's Neo HD apparently works well with P2 also.

I'm a big fan of raylight, no transcode, no nothing, just drop the MXF files on the timeline.

The Raylight tutorial says:
"Presently the plug-in works best with native frame rate formats like 720/24PN, 720/25PN, 720/30PN, 1080/30P and 1080i/25P. It can can also be used for 1080i60/24PA and 720/24P with 2:3 pulldown."

Can I mix shots from a P2 Pannasonic with footage from a Sony which shoots 1080/60i in a veg project 1440x1080?

Shouldn't be a problem I don't think - but Haven't done it so I can't say with certainty.
