Vegas and Ultra

I'm trying to using SeriousMagic Ultra (latest version) with Vegas 5. I captured video with Vegas, brought it into Ultra, made changes, then saved the project and wrote it out as an uncompressed 24 bit AVI NTSC file. It is not importable into Vegas now. I got the message Unsupported Format. What have I done wrong? Others seem to use Vegas and Ultra together. Thanks for anyone's help.

It has to be brought in as 32 bit if you want to keep the transparencies from Ultra. If it's just the modified version of the file, it should just come over fine, since it's uncompressed. If you're getting the Unsupported Format, it would suggest you used a codec rather than uncompressed.

The extra 8 bits contain the alpha channel, i.e. the information about what's transparent.
