Vegas As A Multi Track?

Hello All: Is it possible to use Vegas as a true multi track. I currently do my tracking on a Mackie MDR/24 recorder. I whould like to mix on Vegas 4. I have an RME Audio Link Card with 24 channel ADAT light pipe output as well as MIDI output. I would like to run the 24 tracks out of Vegas and directly into 24 channels of my Mackie D8B mixer. I would also need to lock the mixer up to Vegas via MIDI machine control. The reason for this is I want to utilize the fader and automation capabilities on the digital mixer, while taking advantage of Vegas for effects and such. So in review, is it possible to run 24 discreat channels out of Vegas and generate MMC for syncing on the Digital Mixer? Thanks in advance....Rich, EOP Recording Co.

Yes, Yes and Yes. I use Vegas in a similar manor. Vegas will generate and receive MTC(smpte). Also if your soundcard has 24 available outputs, then these will be exposed within Vegas, and you can route any track to each of these outputs. I have Vegas, 2-Echo Gina cards (8in/20out), MOTU Micro-Express, and a Yamaha 03D mixer, and use this in the exact same manor you're asking.
