Vegas attempting to access network - Why?

When I launch Vegas, my firewall program informs me that vegas40.exe is attempting to access my network.

Is Vegas doing this? Or Windows? The firewall program gives the option of denying access one time or permanently.

Wondering what's going on here . . .

Go to Options - Preferences and turn OFF the option to use Net Notify to look for an updated version. That's all it is trying to do - look for an update.

someone answered this qustion before I believe sofo is checking for upgrades but you can disable this function by clicking options, then preferences, then uncheck "use net notify to stay informed about sonic foundry products"

Thanks jet and mark, problem solved.

I note that windows media player also attempts the connection. Do either of you know if there's a way to turn that one off, too?
