Vegas Audio 2.0h and MOTU 2408/2

Latest version VA2 and latest MOTU WDM drivers.

With the 'legacy MME support option checked in the MOTU console, and recording at 24/44K1, I get and asymetric waveform, dependant on input amplitude, but sounds like a hollow buzz on playback. (With my previous version of Vegas, only one meter of a stereo track would respond !)

Without the MOTU 'legacy MME support' checked, Each bank of 8 inputs on the 2408/2 shows up as one stereo input in Vegas.

MOTU state that their driver is fully WDM compatible.

Any ideas one (1) or (2) ?

Hi Geoff
NONE of the Vegas family supports WDM (sorry)
You have to use the legacy MME support.
Also check the box for Enable Routing and Mono Routing.
I always set my Output Source options from computer.
If you are not tracking ADAT, SPDIF, TDIF set the output to none.
and only enable the inputs that you need, I normally keep the 8 analog checked.
And select the custom routing in V2.
Im using the 2408,24I and the 1296 on P3 and P4 on Win98se and Win2k.
With no problems. Please feel free to drop me an email.
Take Care

OK, that solves the WDM conundrum, but what about the 24 bit 'buzz' with MME engaged ?

I normally track 16/44.1 in V2.
I just did a 1:34 24/44.1 test track off of a keyboard demo.
And it recorded fine with no pops or clicks.

Here's the system that I used.
Win 2k sp2
Standard PC mode
Intel MoBo
P4 1.7
1Gb PC800 ram
G Force2MX400 w64mb
18Gb Ultra SCSI 160 HD @ 15k
PCI-324 card in the 2nd slot (from the bottom up)
v2 PCI324 drivers (1/21/2002)
Vegas Video 2.0h (build 434) Vegas Video 3.0a (build 107)
no trk fx

I have that same "buzz" problem. and i can't seem to do anything about it.

This is my setup. Win2k, service pack 2, Abit SE6 mobo P3-733, 392Mb ram, Delta44 soundcard, and a motu 2408mki running on vegas. First of all, i can't use the MOTU when the delta is enabled on the computer, so i always have to disable that while dumping tracks to PC from my XT20s.

*Dumping Tracks!* Thats the problem, it only works when you set the computer to record 16 bit files. NOT 24 like I want. Why is this? This seems like another driver problem. Where do we go from here?
