Vegas Audio 2.0h or Vegas 4.0c ?

I've been using Vegas Audio 2.0h for my multitrack audio recording for months with great success. After reading the forums, many of the tricks and tips are for Vegas 4.0, which, from my understanding, has video and audio editing capabilities. If I am strictly recording audio, is it still beneficial to use Vegas 4?

Thank you.

This depends on how deeply you are into recording/mixing.
There is no doubt that 4.0d is a more powerful application, but still very easy to use.
Personally I would update as there are probably easier/better ways to get a better finished result, I started out with 2.0 (and do everything myself as well).
Until now I haven't used the video side at all and it is pretty transparent after you've unchecked all video options.

Yeah, I've checked it out and have noticed some great interface improvements. 4.0 seems to open 2.0h files with only a warning. Thanks.

I switched to V4.0 this year, had been using 2 for a year.
2 is by FAR less buggy. I have many troubles with glitching and plugins that i did not experience with 2.0.

However, that being said, having Programmable efx is worth the upgrade.
The highly touted INPUT MONITORING will not work for me. That would have been a great thing to have.

What i miss most about 2.0 was the ability to use Accustic mirror as an effect.
Can't do it in 4.0.

Can you still render a track with AM in the efx chain?... that is something we use a lot with drums.

(Still running 2 because it does what we need, primarily mixdown, and is VERY stable.)
