Vegas Audio ? HELP, I f'd up somehow

All,

I need some help immediatly. I have been using Vegas since 1.0 and I love it (I am accually a former qbase user who has converted). I recently did something with my audio plug ins in VV3 and I cannot reverse it...Please help.

I was mixing a song and I had a track plug in up on the screen. I moved the plug in down so that I could see the track I was working on, but I moved it too far down and it dissappeared. You know when you drag the mixer or something down and it becomes 'fixed' into the bottom section with the trimmer and all? That happened with my plug in and now all plug in's don't appear when called upon.

I am sure that I put it someplace but I can't recover. Now, everytime that I click either a track or bus plug, nothing happens. The plug most likely appears in the same place where I dragged the first one (at the bottom of the screen somewhere). How do I restore the normal plug in appearance? I am baffled, but it is most likely something easy.

Please help.

Biff

Try going to views, unchecking plugins view /then save/ close progran /restart VV3 and recheck plugins view. This might refresh the app, if not I'm sure someone else here will have solution

Or, you could go to Views and uncheck everything except your plugin. Then, it should be the only thing down there on your screen.

This reminds me of the early Windows days when friends would call thinking they had trashed this or that application when, in reality, they had only accidentally deleted the desktop icon.

Not to worry. VV30 (or VA if that's what you're using) is so fluid and flexible that it sometimes allows us to get into these situations. Once you learn how to restore your plugin view, the next time this happens, you'll be able to fix it in a jiff.

Good luck.

Guys,

None of those solutions worked. We are talking about Audio Plug-ins and ever since I dragged one to the bottom of the screen, they all just dissappeared. When I click on an audio plug-in (either track or buss), there is a blinking and the fx is nowhere to be found.

Try this and PLEASE let me know what the answer. Pull up an fx (non-docked) in an audio track. Grab the blue area on top and drag it to the bottom of the screen. All plug-ins dissappear and I have no idea how to get them back. I will try a re-install of Vegas Video 3 to see if that helps.

Please, any ideas?

Well Biff, even though you're a former cubase user I won't hold that against you, and if you where actually able to USE cubase that explains your confused state now...LOL

First minimize Vegas altogether, because you've dragged the plugin out of the main page altogether. Your plugin is hiding somewhere on the bottom of your desktop. First grab the task bar at the bottom of your desktop (ie the long grey bar at the bottom) grab it by the edge and either relocate it to another area temporarily or just drag it down so it disappears. Hopefully you can see the top of your plugin now and are able to grab it and bring it back into the Vegas window. If you still can't see it, then try going to START>SETTINGS>ACTIVE DESKTOP>CUSTOMIZE MY DESKTOP. Sometimes somewhere in there, there's a check for "enable scrolling". Check this if it's available. This will now let your desktop to scroll all the way down when you drag your mouse downwards. If this is not available, then try setting your display settings to a different setting temporarily (probably to a larger setting...1280x1024) . This should resize everything on your desktop and make everything visible.

Hopefully one of these will help you relocate you plugin window,

If all else fails... Restart Vegas while holding down 'SHIFT + CTRL' This will reset your prefereces and views. Downside is that you will have to set your prefs again but you should br able to find your plugin then.
