i use windows 98,a 600 mhz amd athalon,128 megs ram,30 gig maxtor 5600 rpm hardrive,philips
seismic edge sound card, and sonic foundry vegas pro.when i record one track it is fine.when i do another
on top of that one by doing sim.play/record the new track lags behind so it seems like i cant keep in
time with the music.when i first started using it i was using my old soundcard which was built into my
motherboard but after 30 seconds of sim. record/play the audio would drop out.so i replaced the
soundcard with the one i have now.and it does fine until i do 2 or more tracks sim.play/ rec.also i
downloaded the new version 2.0 to see if it would help and it still does it.im gonna buy the new vegas
2.0 but need to fix the lagging problem.also i noticed that two other programs ive downloaded one is
guitar trax by cakewalk, and n-studio,on both of these when i hit record i get and illegal operation
message and it closes the program.any suggestions anyone.thanx

Hello,

You should make sure you have the latest drivers from Philips. Those could be the source of your problem.

Also make sure you aren't having any IRQ conflicts for your audio card (go to Start/Settings/Ctl Panel/System/Device Manager--right click on your 'my computer' icon, select properties, then see if there are any devices sharing IRQs on your motherboard).

Any other suggestions?

i finally went all out and bought a sound blaster audigy platinum.that was my whole problem apparently the philips isnt truly full duplex at least not for audio applications.so if anyone has the same problem tell them to stay away from philips.thanks for attempting to help.......peace
