At what internal bit resolution does Vegas Audio work at?
Specifically when using only 16-bit files with the project
set to 16-bit. I'm curious whether Vegas does it's internal
math at say 24-bit even with a 16-bit project. This would
certainly ensure a better sounding 16-bit final mix. And if
Vegas does use a higher internal bit resolution, at what
point in the signal path does it return back to 16-bit?
This would be helpful to know so that I can apply dither as
needed.
Also, if I send out a digital S/PDIF signal with the
project set to 16-bit is the wordlength at the output only
16-bit or is it longer?
