Vegas Audio LE playback choppy..studdering..?

I record into Sound Forge then edit with Vegas Audio LE. Lately my editing has become difficult. After I cut something and want to hear the edit, it takes 25 to 30 seconds for it to play after I hit the play button? Do I need to defragment my hard drive? I record and delete audio daily. Help!

Unless your system barely meets the requirements for the software, you should be able to correct the poor playback by adjusting the playback buffer. Go to options>preferences>audio and adjust the audio playback buffer. The amount of adjustment that you should use would be based on what type of sound card that you have on your system. Experiment with this setting. This usually will correct poor playback.
