Vegas Audio Registration after new system HDD installation

My system HDD crashed over the weekend and I replaced it,
reinstalled Win98 from scratch, and reinstalled Vegas 2.0a
from my backup CDR. Of course, now I need to reactivate
it. I can't find my serial number since I purchased from
the web and the e-mail sent to me with the registration
number seems to have vanished in the 8 months since I
installed it.

How may I reactivate Vegas Audio 2.0a? I realize I must
verify that I am the original owner, but one cannot do this
on the registration web site.

Bob,

Actually, you still can verify you're the original owner. I
ran into a problem similar to this in the past. If you
registered the product on-line the first time, then Sonic
Foundry's servers would have recorded your serial number
along with your e-mail address. Since your e-mail address
acts as a proof-of-purchase or digital signature in this
case, you can e-mail tech support explaining your problem,
and they'll retrieve the number for you. No problems or
strings attatched.
