Vegas calling home

Everytime I start Vegas it tries to access the internet (I get an alert from Zone Alarm firewall). Does anyone know why it is doing this? How can I make it stop?

I think this started when I upgraded to 4.0d.

Just Vegas looking for updates. Harmless. It can get annoying of course.

You can turn it off by going to the general tab in options/ preferences. Uncheck use net notify. Or...just create a rule for ZoneAlarm to allow Vegas to access the Internet and it won't pop up and warn you every time Vegas checks for an update.

Vegas is so flexable you can even disable the splash screen if the name Vegas bugs you, which of course I think is silly, but we do have silly people in the forum as Mary Jane can attest that are easily bugged. :-)

Thanks. I looked in the General preferences before but missed that appropriate control. Now I got it.
