I'm having troble rendering a long project to DivX AVI, Vegas will hang around 47,000 to 50,000 frames. Vegas CPU usage goes to 0 and will not cancel render, I have to "end task" to close Vegas.
Any one here render long project that long?
I'm not the one to answer this question, but I hate to see you hanging there with your hand up.
Divx isn't a native vegas codec and being compressed already seems to be a problem from what I understand.
You can do a search on it and probably find some answers from the others.
If you are rendering to DivX Vegas is probably not the best choice. Chech out videohelp.com for suggestions. (Personal opinion: If you own Vegas you shouldn't use a crappy format like DivX. WMV is much better.)
When I come across the odd DivX music video or commercial that i want to hang on to, I usually render it out to avi with VirtualDub and process further in Vegas (usually to MPEG-2). Vegas does play DivX, but erratically.

I too use to think DivX was not worth anything, but new DVD players support it and will support the HD encoding - DivX and WMV
I've rendered short AVI's and played it and a mpeg-2 on a DVD player, DivX is 98%. You guys should try it, at least look at the picture. It is sharper when encoding at high bit rates.
So I guess no one has encountered this problem, my question is also unanswered in the DivX forum, so let this thread die a quick death ... LOL
