Vegas Capture 2 problem

Okey, I am having problems with Vegas Capture. I have used Vegas Video couple of years ago and I was pretty good with it. I have bought a new computer a while ago and my buddies and I wanted to make a little video for a friend whose pretty sick. I found my old Vegas Video cd and manual and I installed it. I ran vegas video and it worked like I remember it, but then I ran vegas capture and when I play my clips for capturing, it skips audio and video. It's sorta like if you have a really slow computer and tried to watch a video. I know it's not the camera or the tapes because I tried a few different cameras and tapes. I decided maybe a update would solve my problem so I updated vegas video and that worked fine but when I tired to update vegas capture it gives me a error message; "Error 2711. The specified Feature name ('appgrades') not found in Feature Table" The capture still does the skipping. I have a faint memory of e-mailing tech support and them sending me a link to downloading vegas capture with my serial number which I still have but I can't find that link. So any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Tried re-installing Vegas yet?

And.... just what version of Vegas are you running - is it <really> version 2?

Thanks for replying,

I have tried reinstalling it a numerous times but I will give it another go after this message;

:) yea it is version 2, like I said I have had for a couple of years but it worked great before.

EDIT: I just reinstalled it again but this time when I try to run it, there is a message "sfvidcap.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I'll have a go.

I think you may not be getting a response 'cos there could be soooo many issues, that maybe, just maybe people hereabouts are thinking "upgrade"

As I say, then and now could be a whole mess of worms trying to be disentangled ... or is that spaghetti? Nasty image anyway!

So . . lots for you to consider. I aint no pc Docter, so as yet this is the best you got! Sorry . .. I too hate when something goes "crook" but maybe you need to entertain another option. IMHO!

Grazie

Does your new computer have XP on it? If so, try using MovieMaker to do the capturing (as DV-AVI files) and Vegas to do the editing.
