Vegas captures, but breaking into multiple clips

I tried searching for this topic as I'm sure it's came up before, but all I could find is " losing quality when re-rendering" If there is a topic please provide the link and I'll research.

I am capturing from my miniDV camera into Vegas via Firewire. This tape is a local band so it is one constant clip, not a start/stop. I end up getting multiple clips which I can't use because for most of this show I have to use the native camera audio. I realize it would be best to use a miniDV tape deck vs using the camera for the transfer. My hard drive File system is set to NTFS.

I never had this problem when would transer into Pinnacle. And I've done a few other shows using Vegas and didn't have this problem

During the transfer I noticed there are a few glithes (watching the viewscreen on the camera). At first I thought it was in the tape, but then I re-transferd the song and it didn't glitch at that spot. So it appears to be in the heads and may be getting warn down/dirty. I have used the tape cleaner before.

Is the (temporary) glitch causeing the splitting up of the file? I looked in Options, Preferences, but didn't see anything that seemed obvious to check/uncheck.

Any help please,
Thank you- Jason
