Vegas challenge!

Okay Sony Vegas. I use you for everything I do in the audio/video production company I have... but have to return to Cakewalk Sonar to do anything with Midi. You already have Midi ability in Vegas, but no way to create triggers that will operate MIDI instruments. I am still running to and from Cakewalk Sonar or Sony Vegas. What I would love is for one of you guys to come up with a COMPLETE PACKAGE. I can't imagine how wonderful it would be to simply use Sony Vegas for everything I do and not have to use so many different programs. I would pay for it too! Right now I am spending 200 a year to get each of your upgrades but it is nothing more than a little more bells and whistle of the same.

Sony Vegas, you have been the best at what you do... but imagine taking it over the top. A software that does Audio, Video, and Midi with soft-synths! Add to that some of the fantastic utilities that Cakewalk has within its audio functions and you are going to be ahead of the game on so many levels!

Hey... hire me as a consultant! I will get you there. :-)

Frogger777 a very happy user but just thinking ahead!

Actually one thing that would be really nifty is the ability to nest a .acd ACID project with Vegas the same way we can next .veg files now. The .acd project would be rendered out as the Vegas project plays/renders and we'd have the ability to open it up in ACID to edit.

You can just export your finished video into Acid and the score it from there using midi, loops etc... no?

Well, if the majority of the video is done before moving to the music stage, i suppose that would work out.

What if you just want to make a couple small musical pieces in ACID to use in big, ongoing Vegas project? It would be nice to integrate them into Vegas, but still be able to go edit seamlessly in ACID with a click or two. When you save in ACID, Vegas is automatically updated and ready to keep going.

I agree -- Vegas and Acid being able to talk to each other would be amazing.

Ditto from me, too, about dreaming of Vegas & Acid working & playing well together.

You CAN open a MIDI composition made with Acid Pro 7 for editing from within Vegas Pro.

Create your MIDI masterpiece in Acid and render it to a WAV file with the "Save project as path reference in rendered file" check box selected.

Put the WAV file on your Vegas timeline and right click on the event.

The pop-up menu will have a "Edit In Acid" option, click on it and Acid will open up your MIDI project.

You all are missing the point. The idea is not to use another program, even Acid. Many of my composition are created while actually watching the videos I produce. Cakewalk's Sonar allows me to do that, but I cannot edit the video. Vegas is used for editing my videos adding wav files that I create in Sonar, but again, I cannot create Midi files in Vegas. I don't want to use another software, I would like to see it all within ONE software. It would be like going to ONE studio to do all the work and save it all under ONE file type and name.

My productions involve three camera shoots, with video effects, sfx, wav formatted songs, mp3's and tons of Midi handles and songs. The wow for me would be Vegas handling all of it within one software.

Wishing!
