Try holding down CTRL-SHIFT when starting Vegas. On the window that opens, check the clear cache box and let Vegas reset to factory defaults.

Thanks @jetdv. That didn't work for me but what just did is that I replaced the opencl.dll in the System32 folder with one from the Driver Repository folder in Windows. Not entirely sure why that worked or what happened. It may be due to now having both the integrated GPU on the Intel i3 as well as an Nvidia GTI 750Ti installed.

My next suggestion would have been to update all video drivers to the current version. Might not still be a good idea.

I spoke to soon.  The setting for "GPU acceleration of video processing" will now only show as OFF and no longer displays my Nvidia 750Ti.

However, I've worked out that the crash happens if I enable the integrated Intel GPU as well as the Nvidia one in the BIOS. If I disable the integrated GPU, and put the old opencl.dll back in place, all is fine.

However, I thought you needed to enable the integrated GPU to take proper advantage of QSV? Is it not possibel to have both enabled?

All video drivers are up to date.

On laptop and desktop from signature I allowed both without any problem.

All video drivers are up to date.

Are you sure?
Look at Help/Check for Driver updates and install the online versions

Thanks @j-v. I've checked the Nvidia drivers and they are up to date (466.11). I've just updated the Intel driver for the integrated GPU as well (now at 27.20.100.9466), but I still get the opencl.dll error on opening if I enable the integrated GPU in the BIOS?

Are you testing with Vegas Pro 15 or the trial of 18? The NVIDIA GPU isn't supported in 18 and shouldn't show up. That driver is also the game ready driver which is the only one available for that card but not as stable as the media-oriented NVIDIA Studio Driver.

You don't say what your CPU is but that driver is current for the Intel 630 I use, so that's a good sign if you have that or the 530. Not sure about the OpenCl issue.

Thanks @RogerS. It's the same on both. I own Vegas Pro 15 and have the trial of Vegas Pro 18. The Nvidia card shows up in both if the integrated GPU is disabled. However, when enabled I get a crash on start up about the OpenCL issue. The CPU is an i3-10105, which has the Intel 630 GPU.

Have to say, gutted this isn't working. And despite upgrading to an i3-10105 (I know not massive but within the spec) I still can't even see the two AI FX in the Vegas 18 trial. And of course I can only even open the trial if I disable my iGPU.
