Vegas crashing! Need help please

Hey, I'm doing a 80th anniversery video for somebody and all they gave me was a bunch of old photo's. So i scan them into the computer and save them as .Tif (s)
Now this really slows down vegas quite alot but now when i add more pictures vegas gives me this error message, does anybody know what to do????

Convert them to PNGs and see what happens. TIFs are a serious drag on Vegas.
Irfanview has a fast built-in batch convertor and it's free.

Best to convert them to Jpgs or PNGs. Tif's require the use of some Quiktime components and therefore slow things down considerably.

Other issue is the SIZE of the images (in pixels). How big did you scan them in? Unless you are doing extreme zooming there is little reason to have them bigger than 2000x2000 - and even that is pretty big.

There are many reports here of V6 crashing with many large images on the timeline. You may need to break your project into chunks of images to get it rendered without crashing.

convert them to jpeg at very low or no compression ...

if you have the space , targa's are even better ...

png's have color shift and are slower to use ...
