Vegas deceiving marketing - again!

I have been waiting for info about the new upgrade. It never came.

As a 365 subscriber, I can use my old serial number in Vegas Pro 19, but missing code to Boris FX Primatte Studio.

I wrote to customer service, and got an answer today telling Boris FX Primatte Studio is not included, as I'm an old customer (renewing my subscription, instead of buying a new one).

How can info on Vegas website get understood any other way, than that Boris FX Primatte Studio is a part of the new version?

Getting really really tired of Vegas' false marketing. Just as I thought problems were sorted out and Vegas was going into a new era with honesty and dignity. Then this happens.

@gary-rebholz - why??? Why do Vegas keep doing this? What's the purpose? You might generate some extra sale here and now - but a company which keep deceiving and fooling its customers is probably not going to succeed on longer term.

I wouldn't feel too let down... I bought the Vegas post 19 expecting the Boris primatte studio as well... only to find that it is more or less just a 3 month trial subscription... it expires in November... what a joke!

It has nothing to do with the OFX installer,,, attached is the relevant portion of the receipt I received after entering code on the boris site... you should pay special attention to the expiration date...

@gwyador Thanks for the feedback. The expire of Primatte Studio is an issue by Boris and we are working together to fix this. This version should never expire. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I bought my VP19 upgrade to PRO yesterday. Primatte subscription expired in 3 months .. I queried Boris FX support and today the subscription expires 1/1/1970 .. Now I'm wondering how much $$$ to license Primatte on a second machine. I'm used to running Vegas on my PC and my Laptop. So the single machine license of Primatte is not that useful. I wish Magix had let me know that the Primatte was only good on one machine (unlike Vegas) ..

As an existing VEGAS 365 subscriber, you are entitled to all of the new features (including third-party and other add-ons). You received incorrect information regarding this from the customer service team. We have already addressed that internally.

I guess I can't fully blame you for jumping to the conclusion that you've been deceived, and all I can do is tell you that the VEGAS team does not operate that way. We've made huge changes in our marketing as well as the software itself. Have we done a good job of communicating this? Well, we should have done better. But the VEGAS team is doing our best to work within the constrains of the sales/fulfilment systems we currently have to use. We are actively working on this. We can and will do better.

For customers who already have activated and recieved the 3 month expiration date, they just need to re-activate from the license box in Primatte Studio in VEGAS, and re-enter the activation key. It will then license without an end date.

No. The issue is not fixed.

Original response from customer service:
"Unfortunately, we have to inform you that you will only receive the subscription if you are currently purchasing a new subscription, but not if you renew it."

New response, got today (I wrote to them again after @gary-rebholz claimed the problem was solved):
"As already described. You purchased the subscription last year. However, the plug-in is only available to customers who are currently purchasing the subscription. Therefore we cannot send you a code".

Hmmm… something seems to happening now. Thanks. Got a new mail just a couple of minutes ago - this time from Magix supportmanager - with a short message and some kind of [temporary?] code. I'll check that out tomorrow.

When contacting Vegas customer support it always goes to Magix. I don't post person names here, but the mail came from Supportmanager/MAGIX Software GmbH.

Primatte Studio is now installed. Vegas Pro crashed a couple of times when I tested the plugin - but it seems to work just fine now, after rebooting the system.

I guess this case is finally resolved :-)

(Next case: missing iZotope plugins - but more about that later)

It's a licencing issue. Sound Forge Pro bundled with Vegas Pro came with only trial versions of the plugins. I had a long correspondence about that with Vegas/Magix customer support, who kept saying that iZotope RX Elements are not included.

Meanwhile I bought a licence directly from iZotope (and later upgraded to RX Standard), but the case still annoys me. I think me - and everybody else in the same situation - should have some kind of compensation, or at least an explanation and apology.
