Vegas default viewer

Everytime I try to open a picture, Vegas loads as the default viewer. Then I get an error message that the file is not a type that Vegas can open. I don't know how Vegas got to be the default viewer, and I don't know why Vegas won't open a jpeg file. Any help is much appreciated!

Go to Windows Explorer. Click Tools, folder options then file type. Once the list is built scroll down and see if you have multiple entries for JPEG types. If so, delete those that are inappropriate or that you don't want. You can also change which application opens what. Assumes you have some graphic viewing application besides Vegas that can open graphics.
