Vegas Effects doesn't work

Sliff wrote on 8/27/2019, 1:31 PM

after 2 fresh Windows installations I'm giving up. On a fresh setup I get vegas effects to work, but after a few hours, it doesn't start anymore. No matter if try it out of vegas pro or stand alone, it just can't launch it (starting screen goes away, task is gone).

I'm very frustrated! I just can't understand why. Vegas Pro and Vegas Image works fine!

I'm running a i9 9900k on a Z390 Board, 32GB Ram and a GTX 980ti.

Any help or infos would be appreciated.

Ok, now I know what destroyed it for me. As soon as I install software by NewBlueFX Vegas Effects isn't working anymore. maybe this information is helpful for anyone.

thanks. this worked for me. I uninstalled all my newblue software. so that's the solution? I was very dependent on titlerpro5. is this a known issue?

I've told Magix what the problem is, when I stepped back from the Vegas Post Upgrade, but I have no clue if they knew it or care about it. I've tested it on 3 different PC's with the same outcome, so I truly believe there is a software problem and not just my error.

This is interesting. I reinstalled some of the new blue filters that came bundled with my previous versions of Vegas. Vp 17 runs fine and Vegas effects starts up within the program as it should. The new blue filters show up in Vegas effects as 2d effects. I'm thinking just newblues titler is the problem.

Thanks! That worked for me. But VEGAS Effects would not start until I uninstalled BORIS Continuum Title Studio and deleted the residual folder in my ProgramData folder. My setup may have been a little different though.

But that was a big help. Thanks so much! It worked like a charm.

I'm glad it helped, but it's sad to see this bug is still a thing. I send all the data to magix, but I don't think they care. On top of it, vegas effects still doesn't support 10bit 422 footage, which is a real bummer.

Keep in mind this was developed by FXHome, and it may take the Vegas team a little bit longer to diagnose bugs due to having to reach out to FXHome for certain issues. They are aware of the bugs and are working to resolve them.

I too am experiencing the same issue, I will try the New Blue fix.
