Vegas-event(s) disappearing from timeline

Ocassionally in Vegas (3.0a) one or more events will just disappear from the timeline(s), almost as if I deleted them (which of course I didn't do). The files are listed in the media pool so I haven't lost them but obviously this causes a lot of angst and untold aggravation. I can't determine any common demoninator that causes this other than I'm typically recording some overdubs with some existing tracks. When it happened yesterday I was only using a couple of SF eq plugins so plugins aren't the issue. This happens only occasionally and I don't recall it happening with Vegas 2. Has anyone else experienced this or have any input about it?? Its starting to freak me out!! Thanks!

Realizing this thread is ancient, but I was searching through "lost events" and picked up on this one. I'm running Vegas 2 (yeah, I know), and last night the same thing happened to me. I was working on some new drum tracks, lining them up on my time line, etc. My only movement up my track list was to use my cursor to match beats with the old file. Got everything lined up, hit save and went to get dinner. Opened it back up and saw a conspicuous amount of grey where my old drums, vocal, guitar, and bass tracks used to reside. Oh, they're still in my media pool, sitting like jigsaw puzzle pieces. Now I admit this project was getting a bit thick with tracks and plugs, but not more than many other projects I've done over the years.

Drbam, you solve the mystery since your original post?? Anyone else?? This is an incredible p.i.t.a.
