I can't really offer advise but rather consolation. I had the exact same thing happen to me a couple of times on somewhat large and lengthy projects. Devastated me. Since then I have made immediate back ups when I do something I like, usually on another harddrive o somewhere completely different.

For me working with Vegas has become like a relationship. Sometimes it does things that I don't understand and don't like but I can't always change those things. I just have to figure out how to work with together with it, try to make it understand my side, and eventually come to a mutual understanding.hahahaha.
