Vegas freezes on 4k monitor

Hello, recently I changed my monitor from 1080 to 4k, and now while using Vegas 20 I have a lot of freezes.
Firstly I still working on FullHD projects, tried used old and new ones, same settings, so it's no differences from last setup except a new monitor and display resolution.
For example, back to Vegas after every alt tab I need to wait 3-5 secs, import media also started take more time, preview even on lowest quality is also laggy.

I understand that 4k resolution is more "heavy" for system, therefore I tried to change display resolution back to 1080, and nothing changes.
My specs: Nvidia 4080, 32 gb ram, i5 13600kf. Is it really not enough to work in 4k or I miss something?

Probably not monitor related but an issue with different media happening at the same time.

What's the media specifically? Try to use the tool MediaInfo to answer.

I using video (mp4), pictures (jpg, webp, png) and audio (mp3, wav).
Just to test purposes I tried open and edit old projects with media which didn't cause any problems.
I noticed that now after every alt tab on all media events on timeline shows message "Media Offline" and after few seconds of loading I can edit project again. So looks like every time Vegas is not active it deletes caches or whatever and after I return to it Vegas starts loading every media in project from zero again.
Maybe there are some settings that can fix it?

There is a setting in Vegas preferences about closing media when not the active use application -try checking or unchecking it.

Sometimes external drives also spin down when you go away from them and take a few seconds to spin up again.

If you share MediaInfo for the problem mp4 files happy to give further advice for formats.

The only thing Vegas does when it loads media for the first time is creating a sfk waveform peak file. It's probably not rebuilding those unless it says that it is.

Thanks! I uncheked option "Close media when application is not active" and now issue with alttab freezes have gone!
I tried to remember which Nvidia settings I changed with new monitor, and noticed that now I using 10 bit color depth instead of 8 bit. Also I enabled G-Sync. Could these settings affect Vegas perfomance?

Both settings can affect your system's performance, but they shouldn't be with specs that high. It's likely a software/driver issue. Don't use game ready drivers from nvidia, make sure you use studio drivers with VEGAS.They will still run games.

The RTX 4080 and the Intel® Core™ i5-13600KF Prozessor should be enough really. Maybe it is an driver issue really.

Great, glad to hear it helped.

For NVIDIA I use 10-bit with my 2080 Super and haven't had issues in VEGAS. G-Sync I can't comment on though. Do you still have issues with VEGAS? If so please share Mediainfo for a sample of common footage you use.
