Vegas freezing on startup. cause: Process Explorer

today, Vegas locked up on "Creating I/O Manager" CPU was fixed on 100%, locking the hole computer. barely could move the mouse. this happened 2 times before, a few weeks ago. but this time, instead of closing it the "forced" manner, i decided to go on the task manager (process explorer - opened all the time) to see the "tread" inside vegas11.exe to try to find the root of the problem.

but then, the problem wasn't vegas, but process explorer itself. vegas caused it "somehow" to eat all the CPU, freezing vegas. ending vegas process, process explorer went back to normal.

so, if happens again i will try to digg more, but for now its clear that vegas its more "sensible" to conflict with software/drivers. don't know wich one to blame, but weird at least that two program like these can mess each other.

Do you mean windows Task Manager or the 3rd party ( think winternals) Process Explorer?

I think what you're seeing isn't the cause, but rather the effect. Many times following a SVP v11 crash, Vegas has failed to restart; hanging up displaying the File I/O manager status.

What I've done is start Task Manager, find the File I/O Manager in the process list, kill it, then re-start Vegas. This usually fixes the problem and lets Vegas restart normally.
