Vegas has stopped working... what the heck?

Hi,

I have had lots of trouble in installing 9.0d over 9.0c. I cannot get the installer to perform without it reporting that it has ended prematurely. It actually reported that on every upgrade from 9.0 (a,b, c). I have followed exact instructions about how to make a clean install, but still I get that stupid "ended prematurely" message. According to SCS help I can igore it. However - now after having deleted and re-installed Vegas 9.0d 5 times, I get this following message every time I start Vegas (after booting) for the first time:

Restarting the application it then works ok (if you don't take into consideration the long load times abd other known problems)

Should I try to reinstall for the 6th time? Anyone else seen this? How can the installer of a pro application be so dysfunct?

Christian

Sure, we've all seen this from time to time. I haven't had any trouble with 9d, but others have. Do you need any 9d features? Can you go back to 9c? I have to think something else is awry in your system. Anti-virus? MS C++ Redistributable not installed correctly?

Doesn't Vegas auto-open the last project upon startup? Go into Preferences and try un-checking that one? Only after reboot, eh? Do you get any more details or an error report?

If I had that much trouble I'd reinstall Windows.

totally agree with kevin.....

using 9d with no problems, load times faster than 9c.

win7/64/6gb

just had a look at your specs. is your sound card spec'd for win 7? have you tried pulling it out and seeing what happens (though you'd have to uninstall drivers as well)?

i only as cause years ago i had endless problems until i pulled my turtle beach card out and everything went smoothly there after....
