Vegas interesting behavior. Bug Maybe?

I've created a project with about 20 or so tracks. Late in the project I imported a video clip, put it on the timeline, put on screen text over the video, then rendered it to a new track. I then wanted to print to tape, so I soloed the new track and it's audio but for some reason this particular clip would not be muted. The rest of the video, stills, etc on it's track were grayed out and muted but for some reason it was not. No matter what I do I cannot get it to gray out, mute or anything. Have any ideas what is causing this and how I go about fixing it?

On a side not the video clip was only about 30 seconds long, and it took forever to render this video clip. Maybe there is something else happening that I am unaware about. Please help if you can.

I was complaining about this yesterday until SonyIPM stated :

"Are these parent/chlid tracks? If so thats new solo behaviour for parent/child groups.

Look under the Solo a track section of help"

I am using version 4. Since I started in the project in version 4 I didn't want to open it in 5 and have something go wrong. No parent child tracks going on here. How do I post a screenshot?
