Vegas keeps crashing- Help!

I just received my Omni Studio card and Vegas crashes everytime I try to change the Audio panel to use the Omni for playback OR recording.
In the Audio Properties dialog, I have to set the Audio Device type to Windows Classic Wave Driver...then no matter what I select for playback or recording, Vegas crashes as soon as I try to play or record anything.
Actually, it doesn't crash. I get an Exception Error, which never goes away. Every time I click OK, it keeps popping back up until I close Vegas from the Task Manager. I'm using Win2K. Any ideas?? Thanks...
Here's the details from the error message if it helps:

I experience a similar crash sometimes when trying to apply plugins, and I am using Vegas Audio 2.0. It happens at least once or twice during a typical 3-4 hour mixing period but sometimes more. I've also experienced it after applying an envelope to an event. After I reload Vegas, I'm usually okay for awhile, but it always happens again at some point. My system is a Delta 1010 with a P4 1.7, Win 98 SE, 512 megs RAM, ATA 100 system drive (40 gig) and media drive (60 gig). The main plugins I use are the Sonitus Ultrafunk package, APIL's Warmtone, as well as the included Sonic Foundry effects. I have some demo plugins loaded which I plan to uninstall, but the plugins that give me the most trouble are ironically the Sonic Foundry ones! Don't know what it is all about, but it sure is annoying having to reload the program and lose your latest changes. Hope someone out there can give some insight.

Thanks
