Vegas License Question

I'm currently running Vegas 8.1. on an old and slow Pentium 4 and am about to put together a Core i7 64 bit Vista system. I know that I can download the 64 bit version of Vegas from Sony and it is a free upgrade.

But ... can I just install the 64 bit version on the new machine (which will be networked to my current XP computer) or do I have to go through some sort of Sony license transfer from the old machine to the new first?

Just install and register it. You just can't legally use both machines at the same time.

I have not read the most recent version of the license but the last one I read allowed you to have it installed on up to any two machines at a given time. It even allows you to do a Network render where both computers split the task up.
