Stupid question here, but I'm trying to export out of Vegas Pro 8.0c using the MainConcept MPEG2 encoder, and everything works great, except for one thing...The valid closed captioning that is present on line 21 of the video file gets moved to line 22 in the file after it's encoded...Subsequently, on playback, the caption decoders won't work because the data is on the wrong line.
Anyone know of a setting I'm missing to keep the captioning on line 21 where it belongs? I suspect it is the MPEG encoder that is moving it as exporting the same files out as .avi's retain the captioning just fine....I need to use MPEG for transmission of the files to keep the file size down...QuickTime seems to do the same thing...
Just a quick not for clarification, these files are not being produced for DVD's. I understand the whole CC vs sub-titles and DVD's...I just need to keep the line 21 where it is in the original file...Vegas see's it, and preserves it as long as it doesn't get compressed (or so it seems)...
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Edited for clarity of Vegas platform version and comment about DVD's...
