Vegas Movie Studio 10 Platinum HD Freezing!

I am working on a project right now in Vegas Movie Studio 10 HD Platinum and have encountered a serious problem. My project will freeze whenever I try to do anything to it. I can play it for a few seconds, but when I try to cut, move, or delete anything, Vegas entirely freezes and won't do anything. I worked on the project for a while and then it suddenly froze.
I am working on a quad core computer, 3.00 Ghz, 4 Gigs of ram, 500 GB hard drive (most of it not filled) Windows 7 Home Premium. The clips I am editing were shot with a Canon HF 20 on the highest quality setting available.
This problem has not popped up on other projects I have worked on with the same footage and computer, so I am wondering if anybody knows of a fix for this. Should I recapture all the footage? Is it possible to find the one or two clips that are causing this problem? Also, the computer is fairly new with anti-virus installed, and I am quite sure it's totally virus free.
Let me know if you need any other information, thank-you!

If it is the project that is causing the issue (corrupt), open up 2 instances of VMS, Select all, then click copy. Paste into a fresh waiting project in the second VMS instance. see if that works. If that isn't it, it may be an actual clip that is corrupt.
