Hi, Just purchased a Sony HDR-CX625 HandyCam and I can't get VEGAS Movie Studio 11 Platinum using Windows 10 OS to see the camera.

1) Is ther an upgrade to VEGAS Movie Studio 11 Platinum to get it to see the camera?, or

2) Is there a way to get it to work with VEGAS Movie Studio 11 Platinum?

3) Any suggestions please?

Many thanks (new member)

How are you connecting the camera? Do you have a card reader that you can use? Your videos/pictures are stored on a memory card. Your first step is to make sure that you can see the camera or card using either the software that came with camera OR Windows explorer. Your camcorder manual should have instructions. If that works, use the Explorer tab in Movie Studio to select the correct drive and then drill down to the folder of interest.

Vegas Movie Studio 14 has also the Device Explorer.
When the program is open, it has to show up at the moment the camera is being connected and is switched on.

Thank you for taking an interest in my problem Markk655,

I am connecting the camera to the computer with a mini USB to standard USB lead.

My older Sony CamCorder was seen by VEGAS Movie Studio 11 Platinum and I just downloaded the files.

Your reply gave me an idea (the handbook for my new camera was no use at all !), I downloaded Sony PlayMemories Home which saw the camera and then did as you suggested---------------PROBLEM SOLVED - THANK YOU

Thanks for replying Cornico, I guess VEGAS Movie Studio 14 Platinum works the same way as version 11 did with my original camera. I have solved the problem thanks to you guys by downloading the video to PlayMemories software and then importing the media to VEGAS Movie Studio 11 Platinum.

Cheers buddy

There is no need to use a third party program.
Importing from the camera right into Vegas is possible.
