The vegas movie studio 14 fails to install on my computer. An error message keeps coming up every time I try to install the program. Error: -2147163964 occurred during installation. Module C:\Program Files (x86)\VEGAS\Shared Plug-Ins\ Audio_x64\sffrgpnv_x64.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147024703. Contact your support personnel.

I operate on a windows 10 64bit. All of the other programs have installed and work fine except for the movie studio.

Sadly I tried what you suggested and I still got the same error message....

I have also tried this method

We have traced this error to a problem with one of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables the application utilizes. Please follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
- Make sure that the correct version of the redistributable is installed. If it is not, you should be able to download it directly from Microsoft's website.
- After the redistributable is installed, go to your computer's Programs and Features window, which can be accessed from the Control Panel.
- In Programs and Features, highlight the entry for the specific redistributable version, click Change, and then click Repair. (Please note that the "Repair" option is what fixes this issue; an uninstall/reinstall may not correct the problem)
- After the repair installation is completed, you should be able to install your software.
Below is a list of the Visual C++ Redistributables associated with our current applications. Additionally, plugins or other features can sometimes utilize portions of earlier redistributables. If, for example, you Repair the VS2012 redistributable and still see the issue, you may wish to Repair VS2008 as well.
Visual Studio 2012 Redistributable - Movie Studio 13, Movie Studio 13 Platinum, Vegas Pro 13
Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable - ACID Music Studio 10, DVD Architect (both Pro 6 and Studio 5), Sound Forge (both Pro 11 and Audio Studio 10)
Visual Studio 2005 Redistributable - ACID Pro 7, CD Architect 5.2

The program still will not install after all of this.

I got frustrated cause I have tried the c++ fix a lot with no solution so I downloaded adobe software and it automatically found the c++ redistributable I needed so I re downloaded movie studio and boom it worked !

hi, the redistributable c++ repair was 2015, I then unticked read only tab in file AppData/roaming/Magix to reinstall vegas download. Prior to all this I followed DR ZEN clean install but that did not work for me!

I downloaded and repaired with 2015 and it still did not work. I also unticked the magix folder too. This is getting ridiculous.

I have the same issue. I spent $40 for the upgrade. I'm not happy. My Windows 7 computer crashed a few months ago. I bought a new computer with Windows 10. Fast with lots of memory and 3 SSDs. I tried installing Movie Studio 13 and got the above error. I guessed it was a compatibility issue with Windows 10 so I upgraded to Movie Studio 14 and got the same error. I've had no problem with any other software and I've installed quite a bit. I haven't got time to uninstall this and uncheck that. Your software should work with a brand new computer. I feel as though I wasted $40.

I just tried this fix from another page and it worked great. Probably will re-enable the security afterward.
