Vegas movie studio 15 starts slowly

Hans-Jorgen-Sindholt wrote on 11/24/2018, 6:48 AM

I'm very happy to work with Vegas movie studio, but unfortunately the program starts very slowly. My computer is an Asus Rock desktop with Windows 10.

The computer is equipped with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1070, but suddenly I can not put "GPU acceleration and video processing". Why? The function has been OK after the previous update.

Maybe a Windows update changed the video driver?

Windows 10 was updated in early November. Vegas Movie Studio 15 Suite was updated on Wednesday. Immediately after starting, I could put "GPU acceleration". And that worked fine. When I later started Vegas Movie Studio 15, the feature was disabled and I could enable it.

Best regards

Version 23.21.13.8846 --

The latest and fine working driver for my NVidia GTX 1050 is nr. 25.21.14.1634 as long named driver version.
This is newest you for if you want to test, you can alsways return to the last used.

Thank you for your advice. I installed the latest driver from NVIDIA Geforce a couple of weeks ago. Now I tried again and found the same driver version published 2018.11.13 - and thus version 23.21.13.8846.
I can watch the NVIDIA GPU activity that Movie Studio 15.0 Platinum runs on this GPU. But as written, I can not in Vegas Movie Studio install GPU acceleration. It just says "off".

That has nothing to do with hardware acceleration of videoprocessing meant in the Options/Preferences/Video and is something else than hardware acceleration of video processing.
You called it the wrong way in your opening question where spoke about "GPU acceleration and video processing".

I can not in Vegas Movie Studio install GPU acceleration. It just says "off".

That funtion in Options/PreferencesVideo accelerates the video preview and maybe helps with rendering of added OFX that can use GPU acceleration. You find those plugins under GPU Accelerated.
That function should be available unless your drivers are not uptodate or your GPU is disabled in the Windows Device Explorer.

In the meantime, thank you for your good advice. I'll take a look at it. I will return a little later. Here, where I live - in Denmark - it's for dinner.

Here at your nearby neighbour also.

Danmark is a nice country where I came 3 times a year (when I was a little younger), very nice people and you have a beautifull and well organised country.

I have never been to Holland, but I have a friend in Eindhoven. A young musician. My wife and I have to see getting the car to drive that way.
