Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0

I just got this and everytime I try to play anything that i recorded on my HD PVR(.m2ts), it will play for a second or two then close saying "Vegas Movie Studio HD has stopped working"
And if i click on "View problem details, this is what comes up

I can play and edit with the things that are already on there, but once I add a video i recorded, it crashes.
Please help.

You bought an old version of Vegas? Why? The latest is Platinum 10, not HD 9 (which was a limited version). But anyway, these PVR mpeg2 streams never played well with Vegas anyway. It's best to transcode to another format before using them inside vegas.

Regardless, download the TRIAL version of Platinum 10, and see if it works better.

I got it because it was cheaper. So it there even a way to fix it?

All PVR footage contains GOP indexing errors, a byproduct of broadcast. Although they will usually play, decoding for nonlinear editing is a different matter.

Download the trial version of Videoredo, and run the files through Quickstream Fix. That takes care of indexing and corrupt frames. After that, YMMV.

I had the exact same problem with 9.0. Platinum 10 worked with these files.

After people went out of their way to help you it would be good if you could tell us how you figured it out.
