A while back I ordered Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.0 from Amazon.
My computer is a desktop, Hewlett Packard Pavilion m7667c, 2 GB of RAM, E6400 processor.
I have Windows XP, with Service Pack 3 installed.
I loaded it in my computer after doing a system restore, and the registration page was outdated, so I registered it manually. That worked.
When I tried to first open the program to use it, it creates file I/O manager, initializes video services, the little "load bar" at the bottom gets half way, then an error pops up, "program must shut down," and then it closes.
I tried closing a few processes, but same thing happens.
I opened it in Safe Mode, it took a long time to load up, but it DID finally start in Safe Mode, all the windows came up with the editing bays, etc.
I was able to load a few videos in, but it's REALLY slow in Safe Mode, obviously, and not that really usable.
(Edit: I tried to open it in Safe Mode again yesterday, now it didn't work, had the same error as in regular Windows.)
Is there something I can do to get it to start normally in regular Windows?
If I buy another 2 GB of RAM, would that help, or is it an unrelated conflict?
Is there a process/processes I can shut down to make it open?
