Vegas Movie Studio won't recognise DVD Architect

I've just upgraded to Vegas Movie Studio HD 9 and DVD Architect 5. The Vegas works fine until I try to burn to a DVD - but the DVD option isn't offered, only CD. I went back to Vegas version 8 and it gave me some extra information. It said DVD Architect wasn't installed. Of course, it is installed and opens up without any problems. So my question is, how do I get Vegas to see that DVD Architect is installled and get them working together? I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thanks.

I'm running Windows Home Premuim Version 7 on a 64 bit OS.

I don't know that version 8 is certified for Windows 7 64-bit.

Have you tried the downloadable free trial of version 11? It's an excellent upgrade -- and relatively inexpensive!

Are you trying to use DVD Architect from within Vegas? If so, that is not how they are supposed to work. To make a DVD you render your video to a DVD compatible MPEG2 file and as a separate process, render your audio to an AC3 file. You then load them into DVDA.

Thanks Peter. Before I upgraded to Movie Studio 9, I was using version 8 without any problems on this same PC. I'd finish my Movie Studio project then hit the "Make A Movie" button and it'd render and automatically flow through to DVD Architect without any problems. Now both Version 9 and Version 8 can't see that DVD Architect is there.

Thanks for your response Steve. Version 8 actually did work fine with DVD Architect on this very same 64 bit PC. It's only since upgrading to Vegas 9 HD and DVDA 5 that I've had problems.

Have you tried uninstalling all copies of Vegas and DVDA, cleaning the registry and reinstalling? Sometimes it helps.

Have you tried the two step method I suggested?

OK Peter, I'll admit it. I'm not the most tech savvy guy on the Forums. I sort of see what you're saying - I've been aware of those elements of the process. But I'd need more information to be able to try the two-step for myself. Do you know where I could get a guide for that?

Peter, I did some hunting around for info and I made your two-step method work. Problem solved and DVD burned. Thanks so much for your help.
