Vegas not working

OK,,,,Vegas, Acid, DVDA etc have all suddenly stopped working and error out with a missing msvcr71.dll error. The only thing I've done today is uninstall a trial version of Corel Draw12 suite. That evidently took the dll file with it *#@*& Funny how it didn't tell me that it was deleting files common to other programs. Just uninstalled w/o any indication.

Is there any way to put this file back w/o having to re-install all of my Sony programs?

[edit] After searching for this file, it is showing up in the folder C:\ProgramFiles\Sony Setup\Vegas 5.0\msvcrt71.cab
Where else should it be? It's showing up in three other folders (none of which are Sony apps)....

msvcr71.dll is the run-time module for Microsoft Visual C, version 7.1. It can't hurt to re-install Vegas to see if it would reinstall the DLL. You can also google the dll filename to find all sorts of sources for it.

Got it working.....I uninstalled/reinstalled Acid and now they all work again. That saved me from having to reset my prefs in Vegas......

BAD Corel....Go to your room!

Frustrating, isn't it?

I don't understand why these "Install Wizards" can't keep track of what they install (isn't that what they are supposed to do?) so that when the program is uninstalled it removes those files and only those files it did install and none others--shared or not.
