Just received my store bought copy of Vegas Pro 8 :) since using Vegas 7 ive now bought a laptop aswell as my PC. Can (and how) is it possible legally to install Vegas Pro 8 on both my PC and my Laptop ?
"Our licensing agreement permits you to install the software on as many machines as you own, as long as you are not running the programs at the same time
For instance, you can install the software on your home machine and on your laptop."
You are not allowed to install the software on multiple machines if you are going to be using them simultaneously, such as in a home studio setting"
Is that a YES or a NO ????
I like to know how many rules or laws I manage to break on a daily basis..!
it's not that complicated. You can install it on 34256 machines if you like ,as long as you will be using them one at a time. In other words, you can use any of those machines at any time, but you cannot have another person/s working on another one with you ( at the same time), because then you are ( sort of ) using 2 licenses simultaneously ( and you only own one ). And I guess, you cannot combine these in some kind of a render farm, because that would also, be using more than one machine at the same time.
Then how would you "network" render if you aren't using more than one machine at a time?
P. 321 of the Vegas 8 manual says:
**********************************
You can install Vegas pro software as a render-only client on two computers for each Vegas Pro license you purchase. However, certain file formats, such as MPEG-2, AC-3 and MP-3 cannot be used on render-only clients.
