Vegas on a Mac?

I just had a long 1 1/2 hour discussion tonight with a guy who makes a show that runs on the tv station i worked at. After talking to eachother about bad NLE's, I loaded up Vegas 4 demo. After a brief demonstration, he was very, very impressed. He only edits on Mac's though. And, as we all know, noone liked to move from one computer type to another (and don't say that he should move to PC because it's better... if all PC's dies tomorrow, would you run out and get a Mac? :) ). He says he can probely run it in his Windows Emmulator, but wanted to know if there were any issues (capture, playback, etc.) Anyone here try that yet? Thanks!

Don't know the answer, but I'll be interested to hear how he goes.

I've heard that the Mac Windows Emulator has fairly limited appliability, so it would be a shock to hear that Vegas was working ok! For a start - what about right clicking?

To paraphrase what somebdoy once suggested to me, tell him to buy VV and think of the PC as a big dongle.

But seriously, its getting harder to tell the difference, as one Maclander once remarked to me, WinXp is more Mac than a Mac (and thats why I still run Win2K).

I really don't think running VV on a Mac under emulation would be an option even if it does work performance would have to be abysmal.

What ever happened to the PowerPC chips being able to run Intel instructions at the hardware level, everytime I ask a Maclander I just get a vacant look.

I would imagine that rendering through a emulator would be painfully slow.

It will be interesting to see what the PC emulating abilities of the new G5 will be.
