Vegas on Mac Pro

I'm happy to report that Vegas 7.0 is running under bootcamp on a Mac Pro 2.6ghz. It seems to be fine, given that Windows is involved. Windows doesn't seem to be able to handle FireWire. It doesn't see the built-in FireWire ports on the Mac. I got a pcie FireWire card (SIIG FireWire 800 3 Port PCIe), installed it under XP. It seems to work.

Fast.

I'm also running Ultra 2 which it totally compatible with the NVidia GeForce 7300 card on the Mac.

Mac Pro 2.6ghz 2gig memory 80gig windows partition + 2 ntfs 500 gig drives - Samsung SyncMaster 940bx monitors. (cool because I can switch back and forth between old computer with analog SVGA and new Mac with DVI).

Now, if NTFS were not so proprietary, Mac could write ... never mind.

Interesting about it not recognizing firewire. I'm running Vista Ultimate on a MacBook Pro and all is good here with the built-in firewire. What Windows OS are you running?

XP Pro SP2 with all the updates except that really bad one.

Today, the built-in saw the G-Tech drive. It sees the ADS/Pyro FireWire converter but not the ADVC300.

Yesterday, it didn't see the G-Tech.

Maybe it works. Sort of. But we always had problems with consistency. It would work unless you really needed it.

I think it's Redmond Resentment.
