Vegas on more than one computer

I'm on the verge of purchasing the Vegas+DVD package, but was just wondering, if i were to go with this software, would i be able to load it onto two of my computers... both the editing-dedicated desktop i'm piecing together and my new Sony laptop?
I apologise if this isn't "legal" and therefore should not be discussed on this board. For me, seeing as how they're both my computers used only by me and it's only for convenience (when traveling, etc.), i have no personal problem with it. I'm just wondering if the software will allow this "double installation". I'm also going with a canopus ADVC-100 capture card for this very reason... it's portable and can be used with more than one computer.
Thanks, this is somewhat important to me, and might make or break my decision. Thanks for any input.
matt
p.s. if this sin't possible "legally", is there any way i could purchase an add-on *licence* for cheaper and do it?

It has never been a problem - to my knowledge. People have asked this before, no one has protested. You have to register both instalments to the lisence you've bought, can't use the same activation code.

According to the last licence aggrement I saw for Vegas you can install it on as many computers you own (using the same activation code) as long as you don't use the program on more than one computer at a time. That may change, or may already have changed now that Sony owns SoFo.

I hope they keep this policy. It would be nice to have Vegas on a laptop for "down and dirty" work on location, but use the desktop powerhouse for the real work.

Thanks guys, exactly what i wanted to hear. :-)
Just wondering, what's with the "concurrent" thing... anyone know why that's a problem? Not like i'm going to use both my desk and laptop at the same time, i'm just curious.
Do they make you have the CD in the drive when using the program? Wouldn't that get in the way of taking data off of CD's to edit?
Anyhow, my main question is answered. I'll be buying the product today!
Thanks again,
matt

The concurrent just means that you can't use it on one computer while someone else uses it on another, legally. No, you don't have to have the CD in the drive.

I have V 4.0 on both my laptop and desktop. Registered both on-line with same serial #/ activation code. Not a problem.

Vegas will also allow you to have multiple copies running at the same time on the same computer. That is a real timesaver when you can work on one project while another renders!

. . not only a different project. I've got WinME on a 1ghtz 256 Ram Laptop. 2 instances of V4 work - just - but I've had some small success using the 2nd instance of V4 render a "portion" of the Project - WHILE I'm working on the edit of the SAME project. This provides me with an almost puuuuuurfekt workflow method. I 've learnt how to manage this on this - NLE-wise - low-power laptop - ready for when I upgrade to a a dedicated V4 PC lump - yeah?

So, V4 Instances with a DUal processor will be the way I wanna go. Can't wait!!
