Vegas only sees a small segment of video that I used previously

So I'm running through several files to male 'episodes' of recordings from my DVR, the DVR timing is a little off, so for episode 1, I had to add the raw video from episode 2 at the end, to get the last 30 seconds or so of the credits. I saved and rendered that just fine.

When I did episode two, did the same thing, New Project, add video for episode two, and three, trim the end credits from the beginning of episode 3 as well as the commercials (the whole point of the project) and saved and rendered just fine.

BUT! When I tried to start working on episode 3, I drag and drop the video file into the editing area, and ALL It shows is the segment that WASN'T stripped from the episode 2 editing, meaning just the first 30 seconds of the raw video is there. I look at the file, and play it in a media player and it is definitely all there.

I even copied it down from the source again. No luck. I deleted the '.sfk' files. Moved the raw file to a different location to import from... Not much else I could think of, but it's clear that it is seeing ONLY what I edited out of the raw file for the previous project, or possibly even less. I've never seen this before, and it didn't do that for the first episode or the fourth as I ended up skipping over this one to see if moving on 'cleared' it or something.

Any ideas what's going on or how I might 'clear' whatever is causing this??

I don't understand what you mean by " .. DVR timing is a little off, so for episode 1, I had to add the raw video from episode 2 at the end, to get the last 30 seconds or so of the credits. "

Just means that the raw recording of episode 1, that file, didn't end up with all of the end credits because the timing is off a little. It got halfway through the end credits, and the rest of the end credits for episode one was at the beginning of the file for episode two, so I needed to add episode 2 to the episode one project to get that part, then trim off everything after the end credits (about 30 seconds) at the beginning of the recording...

Simply put the DVR starts recording 30 seconds early, and stops recording 30 seconds before the end, so when you record A, you miss the last 30 seconds of it. That 30 seconds is at the beginning of B (the recording after it).

Again, that worked fine, as did the same process of trimming it in the previous 2 'projects'. For some reason the file that I added then trimmed is now showing up as a 30 second video when I add it to it;s own project even though the file itself is still a 42 minute video.

Somehow, Vegas 'knows' about this file, and trims it every time I drop it into vegas.

Ok. If I have what your doing straight, this might work: Take the file that seems truncated to 30 seconds on the timeline and drag the end of the file (drag the end to the right) to reveal the rest of it.

Thanks! I tried that and no luck. I also realized the clip is actually a LOT less than what I used in the other project, it shows just a few seconds of it, so I really don't know what's going on now. I even recopied the file from the source. And when I used it in the other project it definitely showed the whole file.

Can't even imagine what's going on at this point, but if you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them.,

Thanks again!
