Vegas Platinum 8, DVD Architect 4.5 crash

Help... if anyone has experienced this:
Video Capture; great
Editing w. Vegas platinum 8.0d; awesome
Rendering; (a little slow), but fine

The instant I click the "Make DVD" button in DVD Architect 4.5c the software crashes... always wait, then ctrl-alt-del, and "program not responding". Not only that, but when I go to HELP>ABOUT>MULTIMEDIA DEVICES, both Platinum 8.0d and DVDA 45.c CRASH.

Extremely frustrated... tried Sony tech support by email, have waited 2 days now... still no response.

Intel pentium 4 2.4 ghz
Windows XP Pro sp2
Radeon 7000 series 64 mb video
HP dvd writer 940d

Please help if you can
Mitch

Well, you've got a tough one here. These types of posts often times get buried because there are so many things that could cause your problem.

Since your machine appears to be a bit older, I would begin the process by making sure you have the latest drivers for all of your hardware, particularly your video card. You may also want to try replacing your dvd burner in case there is an issue with it. Keep trying and good luck.

Something else to try - instead of burning to a DVD, create an ISO file then use something like the free "imgburn" utility to burn the
DVD if it goes OK. I also use Photodex Proshow and there have
been many people with issues burning DVD's from their software.
The solution that has worked for most was to create an ISO then
burn with different software. (it also eliminates your DVD burner
as a possible part of the problem - going to an ISO doesn't care
what drive you have in the system).

> Help... if anyone has experienced this:

My guess is that none of us have experienced this because we are using a different version of Vegas than you. This is the Vegas Pro forum and you are using the Movie Studio version of Vegas. Try posting this in the Vegas Movie Studio forum and you might find someone who has experienced this.

Not that you aren't welcome here but Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 8 is not Vegas Pro 8 (i.e., we don't have a "Make DVD" button).
