Everytime I try to render off a video to make into a DVD (espeically photo DVD's) vegas will freeze at some stage. The remaining time will continue to drop the the Elasped time continues to increase but nothing renders...the video itself freezes!!

I have latest updates but it continues to do it! has anyone else had similar issues or know a way to fix this? its really annoying as I cant do my job when videos dont render

Thanks for any help.

Make sure you resize your images to under 2048 pixels before you put them on the timeline using your still image software (or photogallery).
This is an old bug, but seems to pop up still, from time to time.

Thanks so much for your help, that worked! It's still annoying though as i had to go through every single photo, shrink them then replace the each photo within vegas! it should just be able to accept all photos!

Anyway i really appreciate your help! couldnt of finished my job with out it :D

I use Mihov Image Resizer program that can be found at http://www.imageresizer.com

It does batch resizing and is very quick. The price is right too: free!

Hi,
I have the same problem, EXCEPT...this happens before the video gets anywhere near ANY pictures I have included in my video. I have been using the same capture device for years and same cameras, everything, same, same, same.

I try to render the project as MPEG-2, freezes, the time elapse and all tht yes will still count down, except the frame counter under the preview viewer is at 0, it starts fine chugging away, but slowly bogs downa nd evertually DIES. I also tried saving in .AVi which the file gets further, 8 mins or so instead of about 5. Almost the same spots each time, no photos, just video, sound and video effects, basic stuff. I have been using this stuff for years. This was the first time I made a feature film, and well, this is what I get. I can't afford to lose this project.

ANY help, PLEASE, is greatly appreciated.

Try this: With CTRL+A, select all of your project and copy. Then open a new instance of Vegas, and paste. If you are lucky, your project will be fine.

Also, Vegas uses Quicktime Player libraries. Apple has been 'pushing' updates of their program lately and this may explain the sudden failures. If so, you may consider uninstalling Quicktime Player and re-install an older version. They can be downloaded from un-official websites like this one: http://www.oldapps.com/quicktime_player.php
