I emailed the VASST web site on this but I'm not sure if it's meant for a forum-type inquiry. I'm taking the liberty of posting the same question here in case someone knows.
I recently purchased the Final Master audio plugin which I am trying out on a feature DV project headed for Sundance next month. We are sending the audio to a sound designer so this is more for my education than for the project--but it's also a fail-safe in case the sound house can't get us a final mix on time.
I was wondering whether the same audio filters are installed when using the FM GUI, as compared with going to Vegas' audio FX plugins folder and selecting the FM plugin directly. The latter method produces a single plugin with the iZotope logo, but the drop-down window seems to have the same range of effect selections as when using the FM interface. I like the FM interface better since it strings out the Vegas plugins and I can test & tweak them or add on as desired (in other words, just using the FM interface is a Vegas tutorial). I suspect the one-window iZotope plugin is meant for other audio programs that can't display the Vegas effects chain interfaces but I'm just guessing.
In any event--does selecting, for instance, "whispers" on either interface cause the same filters to be applied?
